Title: Water sample
Post by: duke on October 18, 2013, 06:58:16 AM
What does everyone use to send in water sample? I ran out of bottles that dealer gave just wondering if I can use regular water bottle or need to get ahold of dealer.

Just use a clean bottle and label it with your info and you should be fine, although it is a good idea to keep in touch with your dealer for any services.

Duke, how long does it usually take to hear back?  I just sent off my first sample last week.  I was thinking you could request more bottles and containers from Heatmaster.  Have you tried asking your dealer for more?

I'm in the same boat as Scott, we get them in by the pallet load. Your dealer should send you more bottles and labels, if he refuses let me or scott send you some.

Thanks guys, I didn't know if he would charge me for them or not, Ill check with him. Countryboyjohn, it takes a few weeks to hear back, first sample I sent in I didn't write my info all over bottle and found out that they didn't know where sample came from. So make sure you put your info on bottle not just shipping container.

The bottles and labels are free. And the idea of the label is to be sure you fill out all the important information. Like I said, if you can't find any I will be happy to make sure you have some.

Who is your dealer, we don't require a special sample bottle but the stove should have come with a gallon of treatment and 2 sample bottles.

I may have to hit you up on that yoder and pay you shipping for them, I called my dealer day after I posted this and still haven't got them. Going to call him again today and see whats up. I'll let you know if I need some. Thanks a lot for being willing to help.

This is a really old thread but Eldon made a great video that covers pretty much everything to do with water samples.

I am curious as to why bother taking a water sample? I took a sample October 2016, never heard back any results until about January 2017 when I contacted Heatmaster, told me everything was fine with sample,. Now latest sample  November 2017, it is now April, soon time to shut down and I have heard nothing again this season, yet they have my email,my mailing address and my telephone number.

Not sure why you haven’t received anything from them. Both samples I’ve sent in, I’ve got results back via email within about 2 weeks of sending them in

Thats strange indeed. Usually two weeks or less from the time I mail it to get results.

The results are sent out via E-mail. If they get one digit off you don't get it. Call and make sure your info is right in the computer. The computer sends it and as far as they know you got it. Should get results in 2wks. But they are a phone call away and it is toll free if that matters.
