Got up to a cold outside wind blowing and needing to get out and skin a couple deer. Procrastinating,and opened my electric bill for last month:$88.52. House and shop. Pay more for just about everything else. Wish I could hook up my medical bills to this furnace. Even pay more for phone.

Mine goes from $100 to $140 when I light the boiler. Something about spinning a few pumps and a draft fan all the time raises the bill I guess.

Run mine year round. Not sure it saves me much in summer but I just like the hot water. And get some help on the dryer. But also have just one small pump for everything.

I hear you on the medical bills! Mine was $130 this month but none of that included the boiler. It'll go up to beat the band in December due to Christmas, never fails! Doesn't matter what I do it always does somehow. These new smart meters don't miss a watt of electricity where as the old style meters started somewhere around 7-10 watts I believe. They are pushing hard even here for the EMI meters. They probably skin us worse :)

Mine jumps up as well. The 009 taco circulator running 24/7 does it.

Mines around 30-35 a month extra in the winter.

If you have forced air heat, the furnace blower probably uses a lot more power than the pump.

True, but hopefully it doesn't run all the time. For me I like a designed system that uses a small circulator, staged heat; dhw,ah,dryer,radiators,then infloor with one NRF22 main circulator, super high delta, warm house.

A system like that would be very energy efficient, wouldn't it?
