I am fixing top our a slab to hold my mf 5000 and wood I plan on building a shed to keep stove and wood dry what my questions are I am kinda on a budget and what I need to know is if I pour my slab 5" thick do I need rebar or metal in concrete slab tO support weight or is 5" thick enough to support it alone the pad is going be 8'x20 long and eventually add on to it when I get more money. These owb's get costly on units and installation parts. I hope it's worth it!

im not so sure you need rebar to hold the weight but i am a firm believer in NOT pouring cement without it. all cement will eventually crack (that is what saw cuts are for) if you have rebar in yoru cement and keep it just below your saw cuts thenthe rebar will keep your cement from heaving and causeing you a tripping hazard. i think nothing woould be worse than pouring a nice slab and then in two years or so having a tripping hazard where you must walk to load yoru stove
rebar or at least 4x4x 1/4 mesh in a must in my cement

Never used it but the fiber reinforced concrete it popular around here, don't know how it compares on cost to steel. You need a certain amount of reinforcement to deal with temp changes

4'x16' cattle panels will work good & won't cost alot. you definatly need something ! if it where me i'd put 1/2" pex in the floor for sure.

I have fiber concrete in my garage and had no issues yet. (7 & years)

We have fiber in our shop, 7000sqft no rebar, fiber only with no cracks.. Maybe a hairline crack but nothing noticeable.
As far as pads for stoves, most people pour em straight or with fiber

Thanks guys for all the info and help I got my slab poured and hopefully next weekend my stove will be delivered and set on the new Pad! ;)
