Luckily I have all the tools to take care of it.  Ain't even wasting my time calling them.  Ready to get this thing back up and going. Gonna raise it 16 inches higher while I am at it.  Tired of bending over to load it!

Yep.  Knew it was coming after seeing all the posts.  After 5 heating seasons, its rusted out.     Replacing the bottom with 1/4" plate steel.  Plasma cutting off the old one.  I will post pics as I go and show you what I am dealing with.

As you can see in the pic, they are big.  Anyone have any advice on how big of pieces I should break them into?  I have never burned coal before and want to use this on bitter cold days mixed with some wood.  They are heavy!  I hope a sledgehammer will bust em into decent sized pieces.  Anyone?

I live in Central Illinois and my sister lives up the road from me and has propane heat.  She called her delivery man and it is $5.25/gal. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!

I was always scared since I insulated my own lines and pulled them through a 6 inch tile that I would have the issue of them losing alot of heat to the ground.  I know there are alot of good insulated pipe choices but I just couldnt swing the cost.  I have a 60 ft run to my shop and a 127 foot run to my house.  The pipe going to my house is 1inch for the exchanger and 3/4 inch for the hot water coil in the furnace.  I got a little bit of snow yesterday.  Just enough to cover the ground.  The pic below shows the 127 foot run which comes in right below the window I am looking out of.  Straight shot to the furnace which you can see in the distance.  Zero snow melt.  The lines are 30" down and pulled through 6" black corrugated pipe.  This is my 4th year and am very happy with them.  It has been over 24 hours since mother nature laid that dusting down.  My shop is at the right in the photo.

Been alot of posts about stack types and lengths etc so I wanted to show you what works perfect for me.  Since I am into the diesel truck world heavily I figured why not use a "stack" off of a truck or tractor.  This fits perfect down the inside of my shavers pipe and keeps rain out on those days when it is idling.  I have never had an issue with it clogging.  Every once in a while when the furnace is burning good I will smack it a couple times with my poker to loosen the small bit of creasote and it  spits it out.  Run this now for 2 years and am very happy how it works!

Yes Pit Crew, those are for my tools.  I have a hoe end welded to a 6' piece of metal coduit and an ash shovel that I hang up there. They are just cheap metal hangers you can pick up at Menards and I screwed them to the framing.  It works great!
