looking for thoughts on this valve suppled with bl 28-40

 It is to direct water from the supply line directly back to the furnace if your water temps drop to low. I installed mine so I would not void warranty. I believe SlimJim has another way to do it and also shuts the blower fan off which I like the idea of.
 What are your thoughts on it?

Personally I don't like them, mixing valves are a weak link for the system in my opinion, I would far rather control the blower and shut it down when the boiler runs out of fuel, this keeps the refractory base hotter, longer making your next fire easier to get relit.
