I am running a empyre pro 400 in Gilford NH heating 8000 sf and really like it.  They also have a pro 200 for smaller applications.  PM me if you would like to see it.

I run mine at 175 on 180 off per pro fab.  I have a big load so that does help keep the temp from dropping too much.  I  added 4 gallons of water in the middle of the heating season and that is usually all I use for the season.  With the higher temp you could have had some water expand out of the overflow.  Keep an eye on it it should sgtabilize.

What temp settings were you running?

Thanks.  I was thinking I would drain the fluid and check the filter and screen.  I will see what I can do about a gauge.

My splitter has been working fine for 3 years.  All of a sudden It seems like it does not have any pressure in the hydraulics.  Not sure if it is a 2 stage pump but it will split wood that is clear but as soon as I get into some knots it will not split it.  Also there is not enough pressure to return the handle when you return the ram.  It seems to me to be the pump but if anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it. I did check the fluid and it is fine.  Thanks

Hi Slim,  Sorry for your loss.  We lost one of our chocolate labs a month ago and it was very hard.  She was the best dog and when I got home from work she was always there to greet me.  We have her sister who was really affected by the loss so we rescued a puppy and they are both super happy.

Empyre should be in the EPA certified category.

I use the painter pro.  I got it at Lowes for $99.  You just need one that will spray latex paint.

I spray it with a wagner power sprayer and worked good.  I am going to spray my undercarriage of my trucks also.

Just go mine at NAPA for $39.00.

Empyre / Blower motor crapped out
« on: April 14, 2015, 03:11:51 PM »
Well I guess it is time to shut down.  Went out this morning and the blower motor crapped out.  This is my second year.  I am going to see if I can find a different blower motor to replace it with.  The one I have is a fasco does anyone have suggestions on a better motor.  I was thinking maybe dayton makes something I could replace it with.

I have a Empyre Pro 400 and Empyre has the Pro Forma that they sell to reduce creosote.  I use it everyday and I still get creosote.  Not sure if it would be worse without it.  I am not sure what is in it.  Someone last year was going to take it into there work and do an analysis on it but never heard what they came up with.  I think it has silica in it.

I am on my second full year with my empire pro 400 heating 8000 Sq Ft. in NH.  I have been very happy.  Last year being my first year there was some trial and error.  My wood was not very well seasoned and I had low quality wood.  I had quite a lot of problems with bridging.  This year with good wood I have not had any problems.  With temps in the -10 range I was getting 8 hours on a load of hardwood.  With temps now in the 20 I can get 10 hours on 3/4 full load.  I have run low on wood so I am currently burning maple and ash that I cut in septemeber and am not having any trouble.  I clean the tubes once a month.  It takes about 30-45 minutes depending on how much time I have.  This boiler only holds 125 gallons but with it running correctly I have no problems.  I have large radiant zones in my barn and when they call I will see the temp drop about 20 degrees before it starts to recover.  I run the settings at 175 on 180 off.  This small differential helps the recovery time.
