WillieG you are right..Im using PEX-AL-PEX...so when water s 180F..Pipe can withstand a psi of 125...200F water..pipe can withstand a psi of 100...My furnace is a closed system..

like me if you worried about smoking out the neighborhood....Raise that stack..The higher it is, its a world of difference..My stack is 20ft up...Yeah mine smokes the most when u first fill it up..Just like a reg wood stove..After that hardly know its there...Def I sug. a higher stack..Def will get a nice daft if not using fan

Sounds like your stack could be plugged. Not sure where you live..But on warm days or late spring I avoid throwing in wet/green wood..Doesnt run enough..What I found that helps out with creasote is Ash Trol-MC by CB..My stack is 20FT up..Havent had a prob with stack plugging up..2nd season using it..Let me know how you make out..

What I found is on how often you fill the furnce is..The type of wood is being burned and what the temp is outside..Hardwood your gonna get a longer burn than pine in the dead of winter..Warmer days youll get a long burn with pine..

Yeah  pine is everywhere..I get a kick out of when some sell pine for OWB users..Id never pay for pine..I got a buddy that runs his furnace all yr long.. It is very little effort for hot water.Id run mine all yr long if i was more secluded..
