I buy grapple wood every year. I get a good mixture of different wood species (oak,maple,beech,birch,ash)..I have got in the past a more of a certain specie..Either way the price is the price and sold as hardwood.. Not BTU. My last load was $850.

Drove by where he lives ..Saw his display of Polar Boilers from the road..So he's still in the boiler business..Maybe he's done with the boiler forums? i dunno

Was this recent? I thought he had said about a month ago he was sending all the Polar units back and was going to focus on his other job. Maybe I misunderstood

So I'm assuming you have your boiler fired up?. If so are both the pump running?

And a spare pump. It'll quit the coldest night seems like.
What other parts do you guys keep on hand? Self sufficient living is one big reason most burn wood so it makes sense to have what you need to keep running.
I have a fan on hand, few flappers, few springs, door rope, solenoid, grate, door handle, and some gaskets..I need to buy a backup pump..All these parts that I have, Ive helped other buddy's boilers when they are in a pinch

Being a outdoor wood boiler owner for 10 years now..One thing I highly recommend is stocking up on spare parts for your boiler.. For example, Today I came home and my wood boiler was overheating..First thing I thought is was my fan flapper..Nope..Turns out it was my door rope..I could hear a draft being sucked at the bottom of the door..Thank goodness I have a couple of door ropes.Otherwise I would of been screwed..You never know what will happen and in a pinch you'll need that part to keep rolling..

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Re: Leak
« on: March 31, 2018, 10:09:30 PM »
Update: Wood boiler leak is fixed!..Long story story short..This am (sat) I pulled the fire out of the boiler and cleaned it..I tore it all apart grates and everything..I had at least 2+ wheel barrows full of ashes that I shovled out of the boiler..Basically my wood boiler was plugged..Cleaned up the areas where id had the leaks on the door ring. Turns out I had 3 pin hole leaks...My buddy ended up welding the entire inside door ring due to what factory did and leaks..In the pic he's inside the wood boiler....Outstanding job he did..Boiler is fired back up and just keeping a eye on things to see if any weeping etc..

Update: Getting the boiler welded tomorrow (sat), finally..Thankfully a good buddy of mine who is a certified welder is doing the job..Mr sales man who sold me the boiler is a failure in my book..We've talked a few times about the issue..Said he was gonna look for someone to repair the boiler..Got the call, sales guy said he found someone, after the call...Never heard from again ugh..Ill keep you guys posted about weld
