Back in May, I started looking at an OWB's to heat my new shop, studio, home and domestic hot water. I found a guy from Vancouver who bought a Greenwood Aspen 175 in January from a dealer in Seattle and proceeded to install it on his property without first checking his local bylaws. The municipality said that he could not install unless the boiler was a minimum 50' from all property lines and his home. No way to do it, so he put it in storage. He finally sold the property and therefor the boiler came up for sale.
He paid $12700 with 3 heat exchangers and a furnace coil. He wanted $7700 for the boiler and I chiseled him down to $5800 for all of it but had to drive 12 hours to pick it up. Smokin deal.
I currently heat my home with a large Jotul airtight which does a great job, but I am really looking forward to no more mess and no more splitting.
So today I had the Aspen craned into it's final resting place to be hooked up tomorrow.
