Cleaned 6048 chimney for the first time
« on: February 21, 2010, 05:09:15 AM »

Hello, first time poster here.  I've had a 6048 for 1 year now and decided it was time to clean the chimney.  I've been burning for 24 hours a day for the last year and have burned everything from wet pine to dry oak.  I was surprised to find no creosote deposits to speak of in the chimney.  I expected to see the same flaking build up you see in the chamber but there were none.  I do burn a box or two once in a while and let the chimney cook off for a minute in an attempt to keep the build up of creosote down.

BTW, my observations of the 6048...best thing since sliced bread.  70 degree house, no mess or smoke in the house, no $600 monthly propane bills.

Thanks for the informative site.
