Title: what size draft fan needed?
Post by: newmod on January 04, 2015, 07:45:59 AM
Couple questions about draft fans.  Well the new OWB seems to have trouble getting back up to temp.  Maybe cause the air temp is in the 50s right now and I dont really have a good bed of coals yet?    If I decide to put on a draft fan, what size would I need?  My fire box is a 1/2 500 gallon propane tank shortened another foot.
Does the draft fan have a damper door on them?  the temp is supposed to drop from the 50s today to the teens tonight.  I will see how it works when I get a good bed of coals.  But still need some info on the draft fans because I may have to go that route.

Thanks Newmod

75cfm -150 Cfm would probably work for you. Yes you need to have a damper door with a solenoid. Shaver ran their stoves for a whole without and damper door and had boil over issues. Yes you need a good bed of coals when you are not running a blower.
