5050racing - The older style E-Classic 1400's have the older firestar II.  Do you know if CB has a retrofit firestar XP for the E-Classic 1400?  I would love to be able to monitor it from indoors from my Iphone.  Thanks, Roger

Monitoring from a distance would let me know what I'm in for before I get home from work.  Not that I can leave work early but it'll be nice to know what's up before I get home.  Thanks for checking for me.  Roger

I would love having that feature.  Being able to see the combustion temps and such.  I do however have a DVR camera system with a camera pointing at my temp gauges.  I actually installed a Johnson A419 controller to run my Wood Doctor but mounted it under the temp display on my CB2300.  So I can monitor both temps at once either while sitting in my living room via the monitor I leave on or by logging into it with my phone from most anywhere.  Great to see what the water temp is.  Can also tell if either burner is currently running.  Real piece of mind.  And also lets me know ahead of time if there is a problem if I'm away (which sadly is more than I would like).  There are lots of wireless IP cameras on the market that would work well for this purpose also.

I will give one warning from my experience, though.  My CB has green LEDs which show up either day or night even with infrared night vision of the camera.  However,  When I installed the Johnson A419 controller for the WD I found that the infrared washed out the black LEDs of that controller.  So I ended up using an old camera whose infrared LEDs had burned out and did not work and I leave a CFL or LED light bulb on nearby which allows the camera to read the display just fine.

Exactly.  My phone is plugged in next to my bed every night.  So anytime I wake up I load up the DVR app and take a check.  Very convenient.  I can also peek out my window to look for unsightly smoke.  No smoke means I can relax.
