Just wondered if anyone here was planning on attending the Paul Bunyan Festival in Cambridge Ohio this weekend? I never miss it, a lot of awesome wood processors on display.

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Wind
« on: December 15, 2016, 11:44:23 AM »
One O'clock in the afternoon about 15 degrees out. The high winds are making it hard  to keep a hot fire today. Had to go to my oil  boiler for a little bit and let the OWB catch up. Just came in and fire is looking good for now. Does the wind  hinder your furnace temps?

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Pro- Fab Cozeburn
« on: February 25, 2016, 09:27:59 AM »
Well, shut the Cozeburn down 3 days ago and cleaned it out. Had paper and kinding in for a new fire. I went out today   with high winds and temps in the 20's and lit the fire. I turned the blower on and  guess what --no fan. Freezing out but I checked the fan was not  seized up and turned freely. Had to get the Ohm meter and had voltage to the fan. Since the dealer I bought this from went out of business I called Pro-Fab and ordered a new blower-$126.00. I checked with Grainger and couldn't find one. Luckily I have  around 300 gallons in the oil tank so we are warm. we've had a pretty easy winter in Eastern Ohio, still anxious for spring.

Just wondered if anyone has used the Badger 5 wrap pex. I found it for  $6.02 a foot plus $ 100.00 for shipping. Plan on running it through  schedule 90 this time.

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Fuel oil
« on: February 24, 2014, 02:20:06 PM »
My elderly neighbors had fuel oil delivered today. They paid $4.09 a gallon. When you figure a cord of locust is equal to 150 - 200 gallons of fuel oil  it makes  me want to cut more wood. My old farmhouse will burn 150 gallons a month with the thermostat at 66 to 68 degrees. Be glad to see this winter end!

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Circ pump
« on: February 08, 2014, 09:10:40 AM »
I have a MS 250 Cozeburn with a 70 foot run. It started losing heat and I'm thinking from reading here that it could be my 6 year old nrf 22 bell and gossett pump. What size pump and what brand would work best?

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Water in pex wrap
« on: June 27, 2013, 04:00:20 PM »
Well we had 4 inches of rain in 2 days. Went into the  basement today and for the first time I noticed water coming out of my pex  wrap. Not much but it was wet. I installed this myself 5 years ago and only ran schedule 40 under the driveway. Hate the thought of digging this up plus the cost. Wished I would have ran this through 6 inch pipe. My dealer told me at the time that it would be a waste of money. He went out of business about 2 years ago.

Hello all, first time post on here. I have a 250 MS Empyre Cozeburn made by Pro-Fab. This is my 4th winter and I love this furnance. Really alot of good info on here. I just replaced the blower, only problem so far. I spent about 3 thousand a heating  season on fuel oil till I put this in. Glad I did it!!
