Crown Royal / Re: Anyone in here running a crown ????

I bought the MP 7300 last Friday. Got the conditioner and a section of pipe, and delivery.  Did a little negotiating and got what I thought was a good deal.

Heatmaster dealer quoted me $9450 out the door for the C 250. The Crown dealer quoted me $9900 out the door for the MP 7300 but he told me to give him a chance before I make a purchase.

I am looking at the Crown MP 7300 and  the Heatmaster C250. The Crown is $800 dollars more, but I am leaning towards the Crown .

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Re: cast iron radiators

I have 3 bedrooms and a full bath upstairs. One cast iron heater in one bedroom and one in the hallway. It is toasty. Had them downstairs but most had leaks because the house had sat empty over 2 winters before I bought it.  cast irons heat better than all my baseboard heaters put together. They get hot and stay hot.

Why not just wire in a transfer switch? I wired one in several years ago and it so simple and safe my wife can start up the electric start generator and plug it in. Go down in the basement and switch the transfer panel to generator.

I sided my old farmhouse and put  one inch Styrofoam insulation under the siding. I cannot believe the difference in the heat and how much less wood that I burn. New windows all around also. 25 degrees last night and the fire is still going after 12 hours.

Just wondered if anyone here was planning on attending the Paul Bunyan Festival in Cambridge Ohio this weekend? I never miss it, a lot of awesome wood processors on display.

Neal, it's easy to look this up. I am just telling the truth. The guy wanted to make this a Muslim nation.

Obama stood at the U. N. and promised America will be a Muslim nation by 2016. Then he went to Saudi Arabia and told them" I am one of you". Good riddance to the Muslim. Thank God for Donald Trump.

8 degrees last night, got a 9 and half hour burn time and  water was still at 170 Degrees. I've seen guys put 3 sections of fence up around their furnace. I t  would hide the furnace and cut the wind down. Project for next summer. I have a Cozeburn 250 probably too small, but this is my 10th winter with it and very few problems.

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Wind
« on: December 15, 2016, 11:44:23 AM »
One O'clock in the afternoon about 15 degrees out. The high winds are making it hard  to keep a hot fire today. Had to go to my oil  boiler for a little bit and let the OWB catch up. Just came in and fire is looking good for now. Does the wind  hinder your furnace temps?

Brave, I am burning less wood, getting longer burn times. It was definitely worth the expense and labor.

Brave, Thermopex is not cheap. I bought  100 feet at $12.00  a foot. For me it is worth it, this stuff is really tough.

I also learned the hard way. I put in 3 wrap and ended up having groundwater getting to my pex, went through a ton  of wood. Dug it up and put in Thermopex from Central Boiler, what a difference!
