My NC 325G looks rocket fueled at times. It's actually very dangerous in dry windy weather, as I've found a smoldering ashes right next to my wood pile 2 times.

I think it was the ash pan.  The gasket is a little off/not even, so I'll try reversing it tomorrow and see if that works.  I covered the chimney and turned the blower on...it was easy to see the air blowing out the ash pan.  Even after fiddling w/ the gasket it still leaks a little under pressure.

Had my NC 325G overheat last night.  Lost about 20 gallons and can't seem to find where the air is entering the firebox.  We re-tighten the door.  Any other ideas?

Had to adjust my door again.  Really need a lot of pressure to have a good seal.

I'm not burning any coal--mainly locust and cherry, depending on the weather.  Of course, it is also nice that i can burn anything the woods decide to donate.  Does the coal smell bad?

It's a contest between desire, time, age and competing interests, but I love fooling with my OWB!  I clean my property, have a mild work out, get rid of something I'd just ordinarily throw in a burn pile, and don't need to buy oil anymore.  Our minimum annual savings in fuel oil is $4,000.  I wish I had an OWB in my 20's!

How much ash do you let build up in your 325?  I find if I let it stay a week or so it gets reduced to a fine ash and not small briquettes.

Curious as to the average age of OWB owners.  I'm 51 and starting to think about how long I'll be able to feed the machine! 70 yrs old?

Where does the expansion occur if you fasten it down? In the buried section of the PEX?

How do you guys deal with expansion of pex in your basements?  I have over 2ft of expansion over approx 30 ft. of pex line in my basement going to heat exchanger.  The total line in 260ft.  My original set up leaked on start up this year and I made some modifications and they seem to be working.

I think the front location for a light is too close to the firebox door(at least on mine).  It would get fried if you had a roaring fire going and opened the door with the fan on.  I use I head lamp.

I had to adjust my door today.  Saw a little smoke seeping out.  Hoping that helps with burn times.

Question to Dave-"where do we get water test done to satisfy the warranty?"  Response-  "Wood boiler solutions, it's in the manual."
