I don't get it....

I think that's Al Gore's face photoshopped on a frozen person...probably a real dealer poking fun at Gore's global warming warnings.

Portage & Main / Re: Any updates on BL2840/3444?

I just put a down payment on a BL 3444.  According to Murphy's Law, you'll now start seeing all kinds of posts about how they suck, fail, fall apart, and rust to pieces! ;)

Could there be a problem with the insulation on the boiler itself?  I see people commenting that they don't like spray foam insulation because it can crack, etc (I have no experience either way as I just put a down payment on my first owb) so that popped into my mind about your situation.  Maybe it's cracked in places, or parts have fallen off, and you're losing heat before it gets pumped into the house?

If you're needing a new boiler, order one soon or you'll have to pay tons more in 2015 for a gasser.

If I won the lottery, I'd buy about 20 smoke dragons of the same model and keep changing them out each year so I'd always have one.

I'd also build an outdoor burn pit and order double the needed firewood each year.  Every log that goes into the boiler to heat the house gets a matching log thrown on an outdoor fire with the soul purpose of putting more "pollution" into the atmosphere, in honor of the EPA's new rule.

Yea that's outrageous for 3 wrap

I sell Logstor here for $12.90/ft, but I think it will be going up soon

Thermopex is $11.90/ft but sheww, I can't justify that when logstor is a buck more

How is Logstor better than Thermopex?

How do I find a Logstor seller within a few hours of Upper Peninsula of Michigan?

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself before I start bombarding the site with questions...

I'm building a new house this summer without access to natural gas.  Will be buying a Portage & Main and using an LP system as backup.  Forced air throughout the house.  I priced a geothermal system and it was still about $20,000.00 more than an LP system and a P&M.  Can't stomach the thought of paying that much more when I have acres of trees to use to heat with.  I've enjoyed clearing the building site and figure I'll enjoy collecting firewood too.  I plan on getting a semi load of logs delivered in the spring/early summer to ensure I have enough wood, and then learn how much I can collect from the property itself.
