I have a Polar G2 and I am just getting ready to install the pump at the back of the furnace. I went with a Grundfos 26-99(thanks for the input on my previous post). While I'm waiting for the pump to arrive I'm thinking of how to layout the install in the furnace.
I have LogStor pipe running up through the pad. What I'm wondering is how much should I leave sticking up and how far back should I strip the insulation. Also, for the flange and pump, should I keep the pump as close as possible to the manifold of the furnace?
I have tried looking around for some pics to give me some ideas but can't seem to find any.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

You want the insulation up inside the stove and high enough that it will never get wet above where you strip it. You can leave it higher but it will be much harder to align the pipes.
I would put a valve right on the outlet fitting and then mount pump right to that. I usually don't put a valve after the pump because if you close the return valve then no water comes out from that pipe when you change the pump.
If you look at the picture on reply #27 here https://outdoorwoodfurnaceinfo.com/forum/index.php?topic=9063.15 there is a short piece of pipe above the pump. If there are any clearance problems you might have to do that but doesn't really look like it from the pic. Having the pump up that extra few inches will help a lot if you are running the pex right to the pump and not using rubber like in the picture.

Another thing that makes life MUCH easier, there is no absolute must on which pipe is supply or return. Hook the one that’s easiest to the lower connection which should be the pump. Other one can run to the top for return. One stove I install the pipe with the tape stripe might be supply, next stove it maybe return, make your connections in the house accordingly.

I see in the pics that copper is used from the manifold to the valve and what looks like galvanized elbow on the return. Using that method would make connections much cleaner and simpler.
I have some rubber hose that I want to run between the logstor and the pump. Would it be okay to put a loop in the rubber hose to allow for some movement or should I just leave a little slack ?
It turned out that the pipe markings work for the house but might be better changed for my garage run when I do that...

Don’t loop it, it will kink, just leave it a bit long and the automotive heater hose will stretch if it needs to.

Okay thanks. Sure wouldn't want that pipe to kink, just a little longer it is..
