According to the forecast us Mid Atlantic based wood burners are in for a flash freeze situation tonight and Christmas day. Even a Winter Storm Warning goes into effect at 4 PM today. I was really sweating it earlier since my wood supply was running painfully low. No way it would have covered the cold spell especially with all the wind on the agenda. My Christmas miracle was when a dump truck pulled up in the driveway with a load of wood! We weren't sure if he would come through but he did! Thank You Powers Tree Farm!
So now the OWB has a full belly and so do I so now's the time to relax a little and enjoy the holiday!
I hope everyone else has a boiler full of wood and more to feed it later and plenty of food to eat yourself!
It's raining here now but they forecast a flash freeze so if that happens it'll be slicker than deer guts on a doorknob!

Did that sometime last night after 2am when i went to bed. is 18 here now but not sure wha the windchill is other than freaking cold compared to yesterdays high in the mid 50’s. Hate this weather, hard on the beef cows.

The weather here in New England (New Hampshire) sure has been screwy this year. A week ago we got 2 feet of snow in 8 hours, some people received 42 inches of the stuff. Starting tonight and into tomorrow we're expecting rain with wind and then it's supposed to get cold, on Saturday the temps are not to get out of the upper 20's. Roger

It was in the 50's here yesterday then dropped to the single digits overnight. Supposed to be back in the upper teens tomorrow which would be nice if the wind is gone.

Wednesday night we had -6 ambient with 60mph winds effectively making it -50F with windchill. Yesterday hung around 0 all day with 10-15 mph winds and then last night dropped down to -13. Sitting at -2 and calm right now, furnace hasn't kicked on in almost an hour!

Currently 7 degrees here with 6 "of snow. I was really surprised to see a white Christmas! I was a lot younger and quicker the last time that happened.
