I will be away from my furnace this entire winter.  What should I do.  Drain it, Put anti Freeze in it, Keep it circulating, Nothing.  The temperature in the house will be maintained at about 50 degree with out gas furnace.

What does the group think is the ideal temp to heat the water too? Is 180 degrees the most efficient number?

This is the day we have been waiting for in Michigan. Temps are starting to drop. The Hawken now in year two is working very well. Last year the gas bill went from $4,000 to under $100. This year is our break even point, so looking forward to the future. Dave

What does the Auquastat do for the unit other than regulate when a fan or damper is open or closed?

I have heard that the Hawkin Furnace has a damper that works in concert with the fan/blower. How do you get to the damper if there is one and how do you adjust it. I need to get more air into my furnace.
