HeatMaster / c375 info needed
« on: April 22, 2015, 06:24:06 AM »
hey guys , just wondering who has a c375, is it just a bigger boiler or does it have a lot of diff options, i have a mf 5000 right now, just alittle undersized tho, i don't burn coal , just wood, the mf 10,000 is too big for my needs, so i believe the 375 is my only option.if anybody has any user experience i would appreciate hearing some info on this model...thanks guys

HeatMaster / wish there was a model between the 5000 and the 10,000
« on: April 17, 2015, 05:15:25 PM »
hey all, is there anyone else like myself who needs a 8000 model, my house is almost 5000 sq feet including garage, my 5000 unit works alittle hard during the cold months, however the 10,000 would be over kill, wish there was a solution....don't get me wrong the 5000 heats the house, but im always checking on it making sure its full and watching the zones in the house, sometimes even manipulating them, not really a big deal , but im sure a bigger unit would take care of the worries abit...

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / first time over heating,
« on: March 29, 2015, 01:02:54 PM »
well, I made a lil mistake today, went outside and the temp were low so I decided to crack the door and leave the damper open a crack to raise the temps, mmmm so I decided to plow alil snow that fell last night, so hour later I see the ole gurl blowing off steam, errrrrrr, I run down and the temp is 210, I forgot to close everything down when I went plowing, man that was stupid, it went from 120 to 210 in a hour, I yell to the wife to crank all the thermostats up, it goes down but it took awhile......not doing that again...........

well here in Nova Scotia the weather is starting to turn from -10 days to now -3  to plus +3 days, and right away im going from 10 hour burns to 15 or more hour burns, what a pleasure it would be if one lived in an area with these temps all the time, owning and operating a owb would be so easy, on another note it has been a tough ole winter, looks like it may be coming to an end soon tho, at least the frigid temps anyway....

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / furnace temp drop, how bad???
« on: January 23, 2015, 09:55:54 AM »
Hello everyone, things are working good here, just a question tho, dropped in at the house during a back shift, went to check on furnace, the temp was 125 degrees, I was shocked, it was a cold night, I restocked the boiler and went back to work, when I got home at 7am ,furnace was back up to temp, house was 74 degrees upstairs and down, my only guess is that possibly all zones came on at once, anyways how bad is this for the boiler when this happens ...to me that seems to be a big drop when house call for heat all at once, and it prob happens from time to time, does this happen to everyone else too and is there a simple way to eliminate this besides turning on my electric furnace and running both and having the electric furnace come on when owb  drops too low....

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / manipulating your heat
« on: January 16, 2015, 06:21:08 AM »
does anyone else manipulate your heat, only -3 right now, however we are getting a cold front tonight and tomorrow -25 with wind chill, so im gonna put on my radiant heat now, usually takes 4-5 hrs before zone shuts off, however, then all my slabs will be warm and the boiler wont be working that hard when its -25...usually helps a lot when the temps are frezzzzzzzzn and wood last longer through the night....

hey guys, I have a lone cast rad in my basement porch, problem is that it is on the same zone as my basement in floor, and as we all know, radiant heat is only,or at least my is set for around 120 and as a result the cast rad never gets hot,lil warm that's it, so any suggestions ,or  should I just pull that loop off and put in on my main floor manifold where they are all cast rads, little work but it then will get hot I hope, and of course that will be a spring job...cheers

Site Suggestions / repair videos
« on: December 17, 2014, 04:29:54 PM »
hey guys, just wondering if making repair videos would be possible for guys who know little about their owb or guys or gals that may not be too handy, such as replacing fans, aquastats, solenoid's, door leaks etc.... simple things...nothing too serious , just things that would go in the middle of winter and had to be fixed asap...I thinks this would be awesome, however I do know that it would be a hassle and maybe even troublesome, but it would be great....just a idea
