General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / low temps again
« on: November 29, 2014, 05:59:19 PM »
just got home from 12 hr shift, pretty cold out,-6, just changed diff to 182 today with a 15 degree diff, furnace now is 167 degrees so blower just came on,went to furnace room, two zones calling for heat, main floor with cast iron rads and garage infloor, that fine, checked suppy temp coming into house from heat exchanger,it is 130,return is 105, I realize I have a lot of cold water heading outside to furnace, but how bad is this, I just bought a bigger grun 2699 for main loop,im hoping this will solve problem,so how bad is this issue, its the only issue I have, in the process of getting some pics together for slim in meantime.thanks everyone again..

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / is there an issue with my system
« on: November 23, 2014, 06:37:24 PM »
four zones came on at one time, zones with cast iron rads get hot quick, two floors with in floor are on for hours, temp slowly creeping up,and its only -1 out, what could the issue be,i mean ive heard of a lot bigger homes with outdoor boilers work with no issues, house is approx. 4000 sq feet, and should I have pumps for each zone,i only have one pump for circulating. house is staying warm but its still only warm out and it appears to be struggling,in feb it will be -20 then what.....gee I wish I had someone in the local area who could come and solve some issues, everyone who comes has a diff idea,is this  issue the same everywhere else too....

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / time limit for return on in floor zone
« on: November 05, 2014, 04:38:39 PM »
hello all, sorry but I have another question,im way too ocd about my system, always in the furnace room checking on temps or something, anyhow ive had the system for two years now, however I just finally got the mixn valves put in,before that I was running 180 degrees into my cast iron rads and my two infloor zones ( I know big mistake) fixed now, this is my issue, things now system is running different and im not sure if this is normal, before when the zones came on the returns would be quick and still hot,now that the mixn valves are in the returns are just warm and take forever to return,so is this normal, house is warm but I just find it takes longer now,is this because of the mixers warming the water, why does it take longer for the returns now,is it because the water is a whole warmer now.again sorry for so many questions, just trying to get things working good, very hard to find people to work on system that actually care...

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / digital water temp gauges
« on: November 03, 2014, 05:35:41 PM »
does anyone know if there is such thing as a digital water temp gauge I can buy for the supply and return lines and maybe even the diff zone lines,i have two regular ones hooked into the copper pipes but they suck, dont give accurate temps, just want something plain and simple that will give the real temp....in digital, maybe something that just attaches to the pipe or something.please tell here is,plus I need them to set my mixn valve temps or whats the sense of having them.

HeatMaster / heat exchanger
« on: March 16, 2014, 03:24:06 PM »
hi guys, my heat exchanger is located on rear of furnace,i have no known issues with this I think, however I would like it inside the furnace room, the guy that set up my furnace stated it had to go there because my furnace was lower then the house and it would be air locked if it went inside, what issues would I have because of this if any, my system has been up and running for two yrs, no hick ups yet ,works fine other then when both zones come at the same time my inside furnace temp gauge drops big time, outside temp stays on target tho, would the reason this occurs be the heat exchanger being outside....

hello all, minor issue, heatmaster 5000,works awesome, and we had a very cold winter here in nova scotia ,home is 4000 sq feet including garage and bonus room, very simple system I believe,in floor in basement and old fashion cast rads on main floor ,each on its own loop, so both floors do consume a lot of water,my issue is that from time to time both zones come on at the same time and when it does the temp gauge on my elect furnace which shows the water temp drops instantly tp approx. 70 or 80, I do realize that there s a lot of demand when the floors call for heat but i just thought that there must be a better way or maybe the system just needs alil adjustment, other then this issue everything works perfect,75 degrees inside whole house all winter and it was a cold one, used about 10 cords, which is nothing..thanks guys for your help again
