Bought a new wood splitter today.
« on: March 14, 2017, 11:12:10 PM »

Got me a new 30ton brute splitter with 28" ram stroke.  Has a9.5 hp engine on it.  Picked it up for 800 bucks at a clearing inventory sale.  Came in a huge box and took my little Jonny Deere all it had to
Lift it out of of truck box.  Weighs 1700 pounds, hopefully it's gonna last a while.

That being said anyone interested in a 22ton speeCo with a 5.5 Honda?

1700 lbs....that is a brute. I thought my home-made splitter was massively overbuilt but I doubt if it weighs half that.

That was with the crate and all the huge packaging it came in. It probably weighs closer to 1200

I'm not sure if it is?  I'll take a look on their website.  I got this one from Integrity Sales.

Edit:
It does look to be the same but the specs arent quite the same.  I think menards may have them built a certain way or that is a certain assembly line model.  The one I have looks to be discontinued, probably why it was so cheap.

I noticed the same about the specs.......I was going to say, if you bought it from Menards, you might have went backward as far as quality. Speedco makes a solid splitter for the price. By the weight of it, sounds like a good one.

My speeco has served our family well for 20 years.  My father and father in law have both used it as have I.  The one I have now is almost exactly similar minus the Honda engine. This one has a Koehler on it.  The pump is much larger as is the ram and  hydraulic lines too.  I hope it does well!  I really wanted an American CLS splitter but I couldn't justify spending so much money on it.
