It's hard to believe that people are getting this years firewood right now, talked to a guy this morning who was cutting some up, he said the ash, beech and white maple are bone dry in log form, looks like it was just cut off the stump to me. Same guy burnt 16 full cord last year, 1600 sqft

What bone dry in log form what do you mean? Sorry I must be slow are you talking deadfall or.....

His wood is still in log length, but he says it's bone dry.

Hmmm I don't see it unless the wood has been sitting longer than just over the summer.

ash and white maple dry real fast if stacked where the wind can pass through it but not in log form

i cut trees for aliving and sell alot of firewood it mosty drys from the ends.if you cut into blocks drys faster split stacked fastest but log form just on the ends

That used to be me....this year is the first season that I actually have all my wood stacked, dry and ready to go.  I think the big difference is that I bought a log splitter last year so I enjoy cutting a little more now.
