Hello all-
New to the group here- was introduced by a passerby who saw my wood stove outside and stopped by to chat- he has one as well and emailed me a link to the group- so here I am!
I purchased a used stove from a gentleman who bought it new, I got the stove, pump, concrete pad, heat exchanger, and chimney for $3000, plus a couple hundred to a local farmer who let us use his backhoe to dig up the 50' of insulated pex lines and loaded up our trailer...
I installed everything myself with the help of my father in law. I purchased a pair of side arm exchangers for my hot water heaters, and piped that in, as well as a small heater I bought off ebay to heat my garage with.
I havent really had many problems thus far. Earlier this year I lost power to the pump while out of town and we still had it going to heat our hot water, and for some reason the pex lines all started to leak at the fittings (I used the push in type fittings to install). I replaced the leaky fittings and havent had any other problems to date.
I am excited to learn more from this group and hopefully can answer questions to other new users and to find out more myself!
Until then Ill be out back cuttin down trees and splittin wood!
Ryan
