Title: new saw

 anyone got a stihl 660 saw?  really thinking of one ..or should i say dreaming of one ! i have access to tree butts that no one wants,3' to 4' dia. my husky with 20'' bar ain't gonna cut it. i can get the 660 with 36''bar for about a $1050 any feed back?

I don't own one, but from everything I have read (which is alot) there is absolutely nothing wrong with that saw and bar combo. I think you will be quite satisfied. As far as the price, I found that no matter what I buy, when I buy it is at the best price I can find until I get it.......then I seem to see it at a cheaper price ::)......My largest saw is a Husky 372XP with a 24" bar and a 32" bar. The 24" is for 90% of my cutting with the Husky and the 32" with skip chain for the occasional large tree to buck or I like to use it to clean off those large stumps. Works for me.

there is a guy around home has one for 440 i think said he just put a new bar and chain on it

i have bought and resold about a dozen of them.  they are very good saws!  i love them.

when it comes to big saws like that i would also consider a sachs dolmar 7900, similar power for less than 800..   German made quality too
