These are totally in my budget so does it make sense to buy biggest one? Or just get the 600, to be honest the small one would work just fine I'm thinking

Well I wouldn't mind getting the biggest one because if the bigger fire box. The bigger the pieces the better for me as far as Im concerned. Unless it's not the best idea because it may idle more offen.

what size house are you going to be heating? my 6000 heats my 1,650 sf house and water just fine. might hook up my 24x24 pole barn up this summer

Talked to Scott about this for a while along with Craig the owner. Just ordered a black 6000 from Scott to heat my new 2700sq house and DHW. Scott is extremely knowledgeable about furnaces and has helped me a lot in making my decision to go with a ridgewood. Anyone on the fence take his offer and call him

The 6000 sounds like the perfect fit for what I'm trying to do.  I'm a little nervous about it not having a blower in the fire box  any of you guys running these stoves have an issue at all?

Central boiler has literally tens of thousands of outdoor wood boilers in use with no draft fan

Craig has built a couple with draft fan but never seen it make enough difference on this design to justify any added cost or further parts

Well that makes me feel a little better. I was not sure if they cheaped out on that feature but if people are rolling with it than that's good enough for me

When I built mine I made the door 20"x30" and then I've had to roll a piece out and knock a corner off as it was over 30" in diameter. That was fifteen years ago, I've outgrown young and dumb and split all the big pieces now with a skid steer mounted upside down splitter. No handling big pieces for me until their more of a manageable size for a ummm maturing young man.

My natural draft works great on my 6000.

Auto thanks for reinforcing that, unless I find a smoking deal on a different stove or a nice used one I'm going with that 6000 as well. When it warms up a bit and I scrape some more money together I'm doing the install. Stupid snow!

It's more fun to do it now. Me and my dad just installed his underground piping. The ground was frozen do two feet. Had to rent a jack hammer.  Now that is fun!!  Just had to go 40 feet.

Well the digging part shouldn't be bad I have to dig my whole basement up the sooner the better. My basement leaks kinda bad in a few spots. Big projects here I go
