I wonder if a cap would help burn less wood on a windy day.

I've been playing around with my new boiler getting it rdy for winter and I don't see how to change the temperature differential. Stock it's @ 180 with a 9 degree dip. I'm guessing that's fine but I see some of you run a 7 degree dip and I might want to try that as I learn my heating demands and burning habits

I just finished my installation on my model 2000 yesterday and started my first break in fire last night. I can't thank this forum enough for all it's help and great info. I installed everything myself without any issues what so ever. Chicken farmer if your planning the installation your self your in the right place. :)

I agree with crow, but unfortunately this is one of those questions that no one can really answer there are just to many variables. Congrats on that purchase

After the bitter cold winter most of us encountered I'm sure sales are through the roof with these things. Propane and fuel oil raped the hell out of people.

I agree cooler temps at night is a must. I want to invest in a programmable thermostat myself. I would imagine that would help with wood consumption as well.

When everyone talks about pay back most forget to add more in savings because now with owb
the thermostat can be turned up more. Personally with me I keep my thermostat at 62 to 65 when using propane not 70 or 75. I think the little lady being happy because she's warm is a savings for me too if she ain't happy nobody's happy.
