Title: Creosote removal!
Post by: E Yoder on January 29, 2020, 03:56:13 AM
We replumbed and rewired a big MF20,000e yesterday. The float ball was stuck in the full position and they thought it was full of water. I found it completely dry. Tank discolored, fiberglass insulation melted in places. Thank goodness it was a round tank.
Anyway, wiring and plumbing was fried. But I've never seen such a clean firebox, probably on a 10 year+ old furnace. Not the preferred method of creosote removal but it worked! :)
