Design for Garage Floor
« on: May 17, 2016, 05:47:50 PM »

Building a 30 x 40 garage/workshop and am wanting to put radiant heat in the floor from the Heatmaster. Bought it plenty big for the task but need designs for the plumbing.

Garage will be 2 car brick in construction, 2 x 6 walls, with 6/12 pitch roof with storage trusses. Walls and ceilings will be insulated well.

Any suggestions.

Thanks

The key to in floor radiant is a well insulated floor, both underneath and perimeters. I put up a 50x60x16 and with the help of a couple of friends in the HVAC business we installed the in floor heat. I used 2" high density foam designed to be used under cement. We used 1/2" o2 pex spaced 12" apart with 10 loops averaging 225 to 275 feet in length. They were the experts but I learned a lot and built the manifold system myself. Works great and the best heat source for nice even heat.
