Congratulations Roger, I got a new phone over the summer and just  figured out how to get back here lol ! Good luck with your new adventure

I don’t really have any maintenance other than shoveling out some ashes, i take some out almost every day , makes it alot easier than doing it once a week or two,  i burn pretty much all year , i heat my pool and hot water in the summer months

I don’t know ? I can’t justify spending the money for a new gasser right now , it was a no brainer back when I switched from oil , my 6048 paid for itself the first year or two. If i had to pay for wood it might be worth it. But right now it’s not costing me anything and I can throw anything in it , i don’t have to season or stack anything I just pile it next to the burner and throw some wood in and done ✅

If you had access to Free wood would it be worth it to switch to a gasser ? I never had to pay for wood yet and for the most part it’s not much work getting it , I have tree guys bring me wood if they drop off soft wood it must be cut into manageable pieces  when they drop hard wood nothing bigger then my 20” saw can handle. So I asked is it worth it to switch to a gasser?

I had the same problem, I found if you keep the fire in the middle of the burner you don’t get the moisture. I believe that the moisture comes from when the cold air comes in and meats the hot air that’s where the moisture is coming from . Ever since I moved the fire to the middle I haven’t had it running down the front

My yard looks like a fire wood factory, I always keep a year ahead so some years I have left overs, but you never can have enough so I always keep ahead

Sorry Rodger I have been very busy, Yes speed the pump up I have mine on 3 and its 90 % butter ! So yes like Yoder said it’s better to have it going across the EX several times before it goes out. I was going to put my taco 14 in ( that’s a big pump) but I didn’t have time yet . It was 63f  here the other day i was going to do it then but I wound up working all night and the next day. Now it’s was 3 here this morning so I don’t want to mess with it so yes turn that pump up it will make a difference!
