I have been all over this Warranty issue on this site with regards to my Leaky Wood Doctor and so I agree with this post!

I would also like to state that Wood Doctor did in the end send me a welder to fix my boiler and I believe that open discussion about my warranty issues may well have helped in this regard!

Please see my Welding post,

Hey Folks,

I haven't been on this site for a while now cause I received news that Wood Doctor decided to fix my boiler leaks after all.  I must say that perhaps there may have been some initial confusion on Wood Doctor's part as to what I was expecting them to do for me. When I finally made it clear that I was not prepared to pay out any additional cash for a replacement furnace, Wood Doctor ceased their efforts on this tact and sent me a welder.
So, all seems water tight again an good to go for another heating season.  Of course, I volunteered my time to strip down and put everything back together again, not wanting the welder they sent me to be distracted by anything that wasn't strictly welding and all in all I am quiet pleased with the result.  I must also state that Wood Doctor has graciously instructed me to call this welder directly should any further leaks develop!

Leaky,

Still no word about your WoodDoctor repairs? Did they show up,could they do anything to repair it?

Ron

Well, I asked the welder to wait another month so I could take the furnace completely off-line for the summer.  That way I can really strip it down and let this welder have at it!!  :photo:

So buddy comes and welds over all the leaks currently in my Wood Doctor Boiler and maybe I'm leak-free all next season . . . "Maybe!".

What worries me is this crappy stainless steel this Wood Doctor furnace is made out of!    :bag:

It's supposed to be 409 stainless but it's about as resistant to corrosion as an old soup can!

I just have this feeling that year after year I'm gonna find myself facing the same problem . . .  :bash:

All I can do is document it all and pass it along to anybody who's interested!  :photo:  :photo:  :photo:

Hey,

I have heard via the grape vine that Wood Doctor maybe soon be sending a certified welder to my home to repair my leaking beastie!  :bag:

If this actually happens, the words "On Site" in my warranty will actually mean, "On Site!" .

I hope to be impressed by the work that is done to repair the many leaks and cracks in my Wood Doctor boiler and will be sure to post a number of pictures here to document the work for all to see!

Perhaps next heating season will be a "leak-free" one!  ::)

I would like to see Wood Doctor, first, just take care of their customers by delivering to them what they promised in the first place!
Just nip this problem in the butt and get on with business while at the same time tracking all their cost, then, secondly, join together with other dealers in the same boat and get the deed done with a class-action-suit!

Put Golbal Hydronics out of business, if that's what it will take to clean up this mess!!  :post:

All right,

This is what my most recent shipment of boiler treatment says to do!

It doesn't seem like they have changed their boiler treatment any, yet now I supposed to treat to an entirely different PH range!

What's going on here?   ???

What are other dealers telling their clients, I wonder?

Ok,

This is what Wood Doctor said to do for the first 5 years I have dealt with them.  In these 5 years I have had two (2) heavy gauge stainless steel OWB corrode through on me!

I'm going to try for two pics here of my original instructions and boiler treatment!

You would think that some of these dealer who are or have previously sold Global Hydronics furnaces as their own would be pissed off enough to launch their own class action suit by now!
