just added 2 more sections of pipe total 0f 4 to my cb6048 how do i putt a bucket or cap it when not burning

nothing to put ladder against, your talking 20'. maybe i could take a 1/2 inch pipe of pvc 20' long and try to put a bucket up. dont think it wiil be easy

Why not just put a chimney cap on it? OR

When it's time to clean the pipe in the spring you'll have to take part of the pipe down, put a bucket on it then.

Have ss  rain cap on mine, bucket not needed.

I think the only difference is the arestor has a screen in it.

Dealer removed my screen (after asking me) and I agreed after seeing what my house chimney looked like with a screen.

thats what i thought to, now iam wondering if the cap will keep the smoke hanging around . thats why  i went up 8 moore feet

Had screen in mine for a while stops up to easy with screen. As far as smoke can,t tell differance with or without. Smoke seems to have a mind of its own and goes where it wants. lol.

the smoke wont stick around longer with a cap, makes no difference whatsoever

as far as the screen getting clogged, yes they can.  but opening the door once every couple weeks and getting a good chimney fire takes care of that pretty fast.. 

if you didnt use some really insulated stove pipe you wont need to worry about your cap clogging up, the pipe will.

i have triple wall pipe that i got from the dealer

i used 12 feet of schedule 40  8 inch pipe with 1200 degree insulation on it...leave the door open once a week for a fe minutes and burn er clean.

Off season I use a sheet rock mud bucket..get off a const.job sight..My stack is about 25 feet up from the ground. I stand on the roof of the furnace and use a 16 foot pole..easily reach the top of the stack to put the bucket on

Would it be easier to stick the bucket inside the stove under the stack?
