First get rid of the air vent, they are meant for pressurized systems and are problematic in a non pressurized system,  they can and will allow air back into the system when circs are off when installed above the water level of the wood boiler. Ball valves and unions on both ports of the water to air heat exchanger allow for easy removal and cleaning. Side arm heater should also have ball valves at both ports on the tank on the domestic water tank, top of heat exchanger should be plumbed into a tee at the pressure relief valve, drain tees should be used here as well for easy cleaning without contaminating the water in your tank. Radiant may need a mixing valve and separate circ on that loop if you are using staple up plates or in slab heat, the only radiant that I know of that can be used without a mixing valve is Ultra Fin and it is used only in under floor bay heating.  How is that for a start?

That's great slim thanks! Now I gotta ask is that how you'd do it or do you have a much better idea, this is all still fairly new to me so I obviously want to do it the best way possible

AND AGAIN SLIM IS AWESOME, but I will add a few NICE TO HAVES

It is also nice if you use isolation flanges on either side of all pumps, makes replacements easier.

About a Wye strainer, I think that those are only required if you have a flat plate heat exchanger (FPHE), so you do not plug it up with sediment and other JUNK, when installing you generally want them as close to the inlet port as is feasible.

2nd the note by SLIM, about using a mixing valve for radiant application.
NOTE: if you use a mixing valve, it is required to have a pump between the mix device and the radiant manifold.

Don't think slim mentioned it, but I prefer to have all my pumps in the structure that I am heating.  Again there are MANY a threads on best location for a OWB pump, but IMO I do not want to put on all my winter gear to swap out a pump in the middle of the night.   AS LONG AS PUMP at or below the level of water in the OWB you should be good

***Like all the fancy schematics, they always look cleaner on paper   >:D

I will have to change the location of the furnace next year, I will be putting it in the basement I believe or buying a new one most likely just for backup obviously! Again that will be a next year project.
