Here's how I would decide:

If it's free, it's worth it.

If it costs $3,370.34 per full cord cut, split, and delivered, then it's not worth it: http://www.amazon.com/Wilson-Evergreens-B002-Split-Firewood/dp/B001KW2B7M/ref=pd_sbs_petsupplies_4?ie=UTF8&refRID=13WBN0RGMKMX92JC32R2

Did ya put your order in?? :bag:

Trying to decide between that or this one at $4,452.69 per full cord:  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000I1R56S/ref=s9_simh_gw_p201_d1_i2?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=desktop-1&pf_rd_r=0Q3NDFB8GK1SYZ9KF4KF&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=1970559082&pf_rd_i=desktop

This other one has fancy plastic with a handle to tote it around with!

well so far they have hauled 5 large dump truck loads. most has been ash and elm some hard maple.  the crew found someone else to take the more soft wood to there hauling the hard wood out here to me for finding someone who would take the wood chips.  so far it's all been large 14 foot ish. logs.  I've definitely got my work cut out for me cutting and stacking.

all of these trees came from a state park  but you never know we're your going to find metal.  earlier this year I found a log chain and binder that was used to hold the tree from splitting.

Three out of the four homes on my road are on OWB.  A county road driver who plowed the road this week, said they would be happy to bring neaby tree removal wood, whenever the have it.

I said bring it, and we will cut it all up and divide it. Pretty sweet.

My question is why wouldn't it be worth it?

You can google the btu's of heat per cord in each type but if its free and close, I'm pretty sure your house and furnace don't care what species you toss in.
