Yeah I know. We (gmviso and I) are hooking up with PM's trying to figure this out.

So far no sucess, although I just added a static IP address to my router.

Ridgekid2.safe100.net  (This dns site was provided by Vivotek) you might have to add :8080 after the link according to the print out I made showing "Access from the internet".

In case that doesn't work I put a snap shot in my gallery. http://outdoorwoodfurnaceinfo.com/forum/index.php?action=media;sa=media;in=88;preview

I'll keep working on this, but not at the level I have over the last two days.......  :bash:

I think the software provided by Vivotek limited my capabilities. I removed it and purchased Blue Iris. The webpage link under my user name will link you to my weather station AND my webcam.

For those that don't want to follow the link: http://www.wunderground.com/webcams/Ridgekid/2/show.html

Bull- you got PM.

I finally tweaked the pic upload to my weather station to a consistant load. (I was reloading too often and only partial pics were getting through)

I also changed the the WEB icon UNDER MY USER NAME to the webcam.

Lights are on. But they are going off at 11PM, after that you'll have to wait till dawn.

How is that WS1080 working and how long have you had it? I have a Oregon Scientific WMR-200A on mine and I am using Ambient Weather's software.
I have had it going for a few years now. The wind direction broke on it a few months ago. I should get a new wind sensor ordered.

RSI- Funny you mentioned it. I was just talking to gmviso about the same thing. So I apologize for coping and pasting the info from the email we just shared.

I lost the transmitter during a nearby lightening strike, but purchased a replacement via www.AmbientWeather.com (915 MhZ) And after a week of recent rain the batteries went low due to lack of sun. (Solar charger included on the model I purchased). Other than that I love it being wireless to the console. (good for up to 300ft) I have mine mounted on roof and transmitting to the upper floor of house about 40’ away. The weatherhub2 pushes me emails if I have a problem. I transmit to 5 different weather sites. Two of those sites now have a webcam connection made through my Blue Iris software (FTP).

In additon, I've had the unit for about 4 months.

I just checked and mine has been uploading to Weather Underground since January 2009.
Mine is also wireless and they claim 300' but that is a joke. I have it maybe 50 or 60' away and it sometimes loses connection. I have to keep the receiver in the window. I seem to get over a year out of a set of batteries. It has the solar thing that is supposed to extent the life of them but not sure how much that does.
I threw the stupid plastic pipe away that it came with for mounting and put it on a piece of unistrut.

I would prefer wired to wireless. Actually I really would like one that connects directly to the internet by LAN cable but those are very expensive. ($1000+ last I checked)

I getting closer to going live with my webcams. Can you see if my test page is working? It's recommended to be tested outside my LAN.

BTW- I'll be installing a dusk to dawn light in my backyard this weekend. This goes against my "energy savings" trip I've been on, but sometimes we have to make sacrifices!

I wonder if it's case sensitive?

If not I think my router is one way even with the port forwarding set-up.

What kind of a router do you have? Can you take some screen shots of the port forwarding page?

That sounds like you are just opening up a range of ports. What port is the webcam using?
