I bought a door from cardinal canvas in Sioux Falls, SD it is a see through plastic with electric fence post type round bar for a frameand has a short bunge to hold shut. Works good im sure the would ship one. I th7nk it was around $160 for door and I think they make an entire cab kit as well. You should be able to google them for a number

Bigger is always better. Mine does a good job and is not that noisy. Build a defuser out of tin plywood or whatever to dirict your heat. You could also lay the old furnace onthesid up on a shelf out of the way if your only going to be using the blower hooked to a tstat. I believe you use the green and red to go to tstat. Good luck

Go get a old forced air furnace and put a hx on top of it. I tried a 12x12 modine hanging heater it wasnt enough. It would keep the chil out of garage but it was very slow. With a old furnace it is very quick to warm up garage mine is 30x36.no ceiling just sprayfoamed entire inside.

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Re: Question about coal
« on: October 30, 2014, 06:08:06 PM »
The coal came from center coal in center nd. I bought atruck load there last week and I loaded with another trucker that was going your way. It takes 3 skidloader buckets tomake a ton thats with a  250 john deere  with a 60 or 72 in bucket cant remember what I got. I bought it there for 37.50 per ton but now youve got to figure some truckin on it. He had 25 ton on hiswagon. I know because  I asked him.  I wouldnt think  they would have 100 a ton  in it. So the are makin  a little cash. You could get a load yourself if you could  line up the truckin. They sell to anyone, they have a website. Do you have shaker grates and air coming from underneath if  you do it burns well I burn alot of it. I was putting 6    5gal pails and tha would getme 12 hours last winter. It is not real high quality coal as far as btu, s but its alot easier than cuttn wood.

Thanks. Wasnt sure how those gassers worked. Are the bl stoves more enviro freindly than the ml or is it the same stove with bricks. What would happen if I put bricks in my ml.

Slim jim i have  a dumb question. Can a person burn coal in a gasification stove or do they not have shaker grates?  I bought my ml 30 with grates and works good  but how does it work in a bl or gasification model.

Coal worked fairly well although it seemed like I burned alot. Was putting up to 6 pails at a time and would get 12 to 16 hrs. The best thing was I heated my big old house for under 500 bucks and didnt have to cut split or stack. And as everone knows it was a winter from hell. I am leary of the pressurized system also. Are these no longer being built?

Does any one know any thing about a 345 aqua thermstove? Found a good used one but I want to burn lignite coal in it but not sure if it will handle it. Looks like ithas grates in the bottom and air comes from underneath as well as on top. I think it is sme sort of gasification system.   It is also a stainles steel model which I know nothing about. I have a p and main ml 30 with shakers and it burns this lignite coal pretty well but looking for another stove for the shop but dont want to spring for a new one. Slim jim you know anything about a aquatherm?  I talked to you previosly about this coal in the ml30. I dont think this coal gets near as hot as the better coals. I think it only has a btu rating of around 7500 which I think is comparible to wood. Any how any knowledge is appreciated.

mine is a portage and main ml30 with shaker grates. Glad I went with the shaker grates.I am on the second year and this year has been a real test with as cold as its been here in SD. Was originally not going to get the shakers but its not much more money. I haul gravel and asphault and was close to coal so I bought a whole truckload and am glad I did. alot easier than cutting wood and a whole load (16 ton) costs under 500 bucks. Takes awile to get used to burning it as I didnt know anything about coal...

I have been burning lignite coal out of North Dakota all winter and have burned alot of it. It is fairy poor in terms of btu's but it burns well. I just put a couple small pieces of wood in first then put 5- 5 gal buckets of lump coal on top. Gets me 12 to 14 hours. That doesnt seem like alot of time for the amount of coal but like I said it is lignite coal, way different than anthracite or bitumious. And it is also fairy cheap if you pick it up yourself.

I think house is around 2800 sq ft. water flows continually through a side arm then through air exchancer in forced air furnace.  I guess i don't know what you mean by putting each on its own zone.  What size of bumblebee pump would be best? Wher can I get a good buy on one?

running 1 in pex 150 ft up hill into house then anothe 50 ft to the water heater then 50 ft back to the furnace then 160 ft back to boiler. I will have to find my heat gun and get more temp readings.

that sound to me as though you are saying electric motor is running but pump is getting weak.  Think I need to look at new pump or larger one. The one i have is a pl 36. Anyone know of one that will give me more flow?
