I am hoping those who have more experience than I with Logstor could answer a simple question...

What is the "proper" or best way to remove the outer black casing and insulation from the last foot of Logstor Dual PEX-Flex piping (without damaging the PEX tubing)?

I am speaking to the ends of the installed pipe where the Pex will attach to my water jacket and the Pex in the Logstor as the pipe enters my home.

Thanks!  -Slopster

A utility knife and good blade, 1 vertical cut down the length and then1 cut around the pipe, the black plastic can then be removed exposing the foam. Next take a stout screwdriver and poke it through the foam, between the pex lines, twist the scewdriver sideways splitting the foam and then strip away the foam with a sharp knife, be careful to not damage the pex with this part. lastly, before inserting the compression fittings into the pex take the sharp edge off the pex with a sharp knife or it can cut the O rings.

How much "naked PEX" should I leave coming out of the Logstor insulation.  The Logstor endcap needs a couple inches but beyond that, how much more for fitting attachment and anything else that is needed?   :-\

6 inches will give you enough room for the compression fittings
