Ok here I'm heatting 6600 spft . Burned 4.5 cord oak slabs. With a old style Heatmor 400 . 2 houses shop and garage. Centeral MN 3 zones . I have got it to gasify a crazy rose color cloud flames at top of in firebox . It's about adjusting the drafts.  I'm right about like last year slabs are bit dryer this year.

Been keeping boiler run for years only way stop that in ground heat lose is this stuff Insul seal .

I've been going thru plenty of Ash.
Tree guy, a buddy, mentioned it looked like "swamp ash", the kind you'd find in "bottom lands"
He was correct, I had cut it in a wet area, full of seeps.
The single digit and below zero temps will have us burning a bunch thru the next week.
