Earth-Stack Emission Control
« on: February 21, 2014, 04:53:20 PM »

Does anyone have one, or seen them work in person? I'm not exactly sure how it works, but it looks like a pre-heated catalytic converter. If it works near as well as they claim; this seems like a legit way of lowering emissions. Without making the price of OWBs skyrocket, or making everyone buy gassers, this seems like a great way to keep the EPA happy. But that's only if it works.

The problems with them is they burn out and very few people ever replace them and it does nothing to help with efficiency.

True. I'm just thinking about the new EPA regulations. If companies install items like these on their stock boilers, and pass emission inspections with them, then it is up to the end user to maintain them.

Anyone see the McGuire clean stove burn. It has something like a cat but different material. Doesn't get plugged or go bad. I wonder if those will be sold as kits. I guess he has done several retro fit boilers and stoves, and it's getting tested and patented. Or might be already.

Sprinter, do you have a link, or does a simple google search work?
