I have a sequoia paridise 3300. it is a phase 1 gassifier 6 years old. works best with drier wood .
my dealer was great, replaced the controler in a blizzard. company went out of business then the dealer went to
ohio.
heard a rattling noise, went out and the entire furnace was shaking, putting out a yellowish smoke.
slim helped me out, and i finaly figured there was a blockage in the brick tunnels under the firebox.
wood is free all I have to do is cut and split.
just wish they had not gone out of business, lost my 20 yr warranty.

that is the larger of the 2 units they produced.
I have the 3300 and other than easily replaced bricks, it works well.
Slim has answered questions for me seeveral times, with I believe complete accuracy.

Does anyone know the easiest way to replace bricks from under the firebox floor in a sequoia??
looks like taking bricks out of the center cleanout will allow the broken floor supports between the air passages to
come out.
thanks

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Re: Actual Electric Savings...
« on: January 14, 2013, 02:51:38 PM »
I have a backup electric heat coil in my airhandler. unless the breaker is off, the thermostat sometimes brings the coil on to speed up the temperature rise. cost me a lot till I figured that out. cut the breakker to any electric heat. Not sure about yur thermostat, if it is programable
you may be able to keep the electric off by the programing but mine will not obey!!

He was a dealer and now sells portage and main, He was a lot of help to me a month ago.
He may be able to connect you with sequoia's old owner.
he is in maine.

Place a cooking thermometer where the line enters the house, this will be compared to the furnace water temp. then put it on the line leaving the house.  this will tell if temp drop is in line coming to house or if it is the heat exchanger sucking the heat out.
just a theory

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / sequoia 3300 vibration
« on: November 24, 2012, 08:34:37 AM »
my 300 gasification furnace has developed a vibration that does not seem to be from the air blower or the water pump
it comes with the flue producing a thick yellowish smoke that is not normal.
can this be a clogged flue causing improper combustion??

thanks
