Burn the green wood don't use the oak just the maple and birch fill once it is running and coal bed and some wood burning fill it right to the top it will kilm dry the wood when it burns down 1/2 to 2/3 down fill it to the top again i have been running my 2300 for 5 weeks on fresh off the stump maple keep warm run the temp hot 190 195

On the older units they used cotter pins they must have changed things good fix keep warm

CB 2300 on a 11k sq ft school house built in 1906 some remodeling has been done it runs full out 195 -190 below 30 degrees 10 hour burn times over 30 degrees 12 hours on a full fire box load. 24" wood split hardwood ran out 3 weeks ago had a truck load of fresh off the stump come in and yes we are running it good luck to all until someone makes a dry fire box there will always be creosote to deal with

If you don't invite them over for dinner whose to know the difference just keep a couple of bags of coal on the ground next to it you need a wood fire to get coal going

Some of us are in the same place had a truck load of tree length wood come in 2 weeks ago and another one coming in this weekend running 2 boilers on green wood fresh off the stump just thank God that you have the money to pay for it and can get it need to get in before the town government puts up the road posters keep warm

Yes white distilled vinegar .  They have those small pumps you put in the end of a drill at the hardware store i use a cordless drill
