General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Re: what happened???
« on: March 17, 2018, 06:55:49 AM »
I’m not one to comment often(on any site I visit), but do check in regularly and enjoy this site.
Like Roger, my mind is usually on motorcycles and motorcycle forums this time of year. Cold weather and two feet of snow on the ground has kept my mind on wood burning this year. ;)

Welcome Mike,

Small world- I live in Holderness.  I have a 2009-2300 that has the same upgrades as yours. Anytime I’ve run into the problems your having, it’s been either the firebox door gasket leaking, pulse timer running too often or a hole in the intake elbow. Air is getting in somewhere.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

Fired up the boiler and cut grass on the same day.....October 27th. Weird stuff.
Latest I’ve started. Usually get it going Columbus Day.

I keep a can of Raid ant spray near my splitting area. Just give them a quick spray and brush them off.

Welcome to the forum Marleywood. I live in Holderness and would be happy to swing by and go through your system with you. I'm in the Newfound area frequently.
Good luck!

I suppose they don’t sell the stuff in small enough bottles to avoid having to throw half of it away?
Of course not! That would make too much sense. I end up buying a new bottle every 3 years or so. :bash:

I'd love to find an all steel hoe or scraper. I'm sick of burning wooden handles then having the ends fall of. lol  Let me know if anyone knows where I can get one.

Roger, I did jury duty a few years ago at Grafton County as well. Although I went in kickin and screaming, I enjoyed the experience and found it rewarding. There's never a good time to go, especially those of us who are self employed. Just have to make the best of it and be thankful we have such a great judicial system. (most of the time lol)

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Re: A reminder
« on: March 04, 2016, 10:19:25 AM »
Thanks for posting this. My boiler is in a shed as well, so it's a good reminder to be careful. I always keep the floor swept clean in front of the boiler and cover the floor with snow when possible in case embers come out while loading. I also have sheet metal on the wall behind the boiler in case the chimney T cover should come off.

« on: December 30, 2015, 09:58:02 AM »
We had our second child back in January which is the reason why we put 2 (yes, two) miles on the Harley all summber.  I started the bike, rode it down the road and came right back and parked it.  It's pretty depressing, really.....
I remember those days AirForcePOL. Don't worry, it gets better!
