Central Boiler / Re: Selling my house
« on: March 05, 2021, 06:24:01 AM »
Roger, that is sad and unfortunate news to read. I could not imagine having to leave the property I have grown up on of all my almost 50 years either.

On owner transfer of the OWB, you might be best to call your dealer or  head office, as there isn't much going on here these days, and might be a long time waiting for a reply that would help.

Good luck to you.
Collin.

Picked up the last few pieces to reinstall my heat exchangers after replacing the oil furnace, hope to fire up this weekend. About a week earlier than usual.

Roger, enjoy the warmth. I had the oil tank, furnace and oil fired hot water tank replaced this year with propane, as tank was due to be replaced according to insurance (what a scam).
So now I still have to reinstall my exchanger and related piping which am still waiting for, grrrrr. Otherwise I would probably be firing mine up as well. Stay warm.

Nevermind, found an old post recommending not to, and furnace parts have only gotten more sensitive I'm sure.
Will make room above the AC coil, and put in union's and valves to remove heat exchanger in summer.

Hey all, been very quiet here so shall see if anyone is around.
Over the he summer I had my oil furnace replaced with propane as it was older unit and insurance provider required tank replaced, so switched it out.
When doing so, added air conditioning as the Mrs works from home and we have zero shade here.
So now the problem at hand. When doing the furnace and AC, the fresh air intake and exhaust for the furnace blocked off the side of the plenum for my exchanger installation, and the AC coil and plumbing blocked off the other side.
I could install the exchanger on the front of the plenum, it's 20x20, but might be tight between the coil and main ducting.
Have read before of installation on the cold air side, which I have lots of room, but am concerned about running that kind of heat through the furnace fan all the time. It is a single speed fan if that matters.
Anyone still here do this with theirs, any  problems?

Looks great 93skaterz. Like to do that here too. I have a small shelter that's portable (with tractor) for the wood. It holds a bush cord and keeps the wood dry, but something like yours is what I would really like.

Burning church pews almost seems like a sin. LOL.
Should be good and dry. Nice score.

But anyway, perhaps the person crying about the subject here should shut his yap about other people not helping the OP if he's not going to help himself. What was that old saying about a pot and a kettle again?

Well, if it's me your refering to, I am NOT a dealer for any brand or pretending to be an so called expert. I received valuable information and assistance from this site and the old outdoor boiler site years ago when I was getting started. People made these sites helpful, where someone like the OP could get some helpful information or advice. Not so much anymore. If I had the info or connections to HM that the good dealers here must have, I would be right in there helping him, but that's not what seems to be happening. I guess since he didn't purchase the unit from someone here he's on his own?
I posted on this thread not because I have the answer to his issues, but trying to get you back to the real reason , for me anyway, why most members joined here, to learn and to help others with their outdoor furnace.

Well when you would rather take over the conversation with your attacks on one member instead of actually offering assistance to the original post, says more about the many, than the few, or one in this case.

I left the FB groups for the same BS that's going on here.
You guys seem to enjoy badgering each other and it's tiresome. Can you get past your differences and actually try to help the Original Posting Member since at least 2 of you are HM dealers and should be of more help than what you're doing here.

Same here. Check in almost every day, and sometimes more than once a day. If there's something I can answer or help with I post, otherwise not much to to say.
Thanks to those who helped me when I was getting started.
