Selling my house
« on: March 04, 2021, 01:58:50 PM »

Hi all - The subject title says it all, I'm selling my house.  The town in which I was raised and the house in which I have lived in all my nearly 60 years, I have pretty much been taxed out of it.  I'm looking ahead a couple of years to retirement and I will not be able to handle the tax burden alone so in January I decided to put it on the market.  On March 26th the new owners will be taking possession of it along with the OWB, I'm not taking with me.  Anyone know the procedure how to turn ownership of the OWB over to the buyers so CB knows I no longer am the owner?  The new owners seem very intrigued about it and want to learn all they can to operate it safely.  Thanks,  Roger

Roger, that is sad and unfortunate news to read. I could not imagine having to leave the property I have grown up on of all my almost 50 years either.

On owner transfer of the OWB, you might be best to call your dealer or  head office, as there isn't much going on here these days, and might be a long time waiting for a reply that would help.

Good luck to you.
Collin.

Sorry to hear that Roger.
But I'd agree, call CB or the dealer.
Are you thinking of getting one installed at your new house?

I have reached out to CB and they sent me a link showing me of what I need to do to move the ownership to the new owners.

I've given it some thought whether I'll install one or not but it will depend on how high the fuel costs gets.  If it gets too high and doesn't show any signs of coming down, I'll seriously consider having something installed.  I'll be putting in a mobile home.  They come with a history of being cold.  Well, like everything technology improves and the building techniques of a mobile home improved as well.  They no longer use aluminum wiring and all exterior walls are 2X6 construction.  It'll be LP heat, cooking and drying of clothes.  The only down side is the water heater will be electric.  I'd prefer LP but they don't make a mobile home rated LP water heater.

You're right on both the cold reputation and the improvements over the years. I've hooked up to a lot of mobile homes that were quite chilly til we got a boiler involved. :)

I'm very sorry to hear that, Roger, and wish you all the best going forward.  You've given me a lot of help here in the short time I've spent running a CB, and for that: thank you so much.
