Ok I we had a Heatmaster 10000e on Jan.5 2012. I had been looking at OWB's for while but couldn't make my mind up if it would save enough to make a difference. Well I got my 1st true electric bill being on the OWB. Can you say OMG. Looking at the bill last year at the same time frame I used 6827 kilowatts in 27 days for 689.30---The same time frame this year we used 1703 kilowatts in 30 days for 161.43---That is $527.87 difference. That is unbeiveable. So for all the people that are on the fence about what to do. Jump off and put that money back in your pocket. I want to thank Dave Youdler and Scott7M for answering all the questions that I have had. Dave isn't on this site but Scott7M is and he will take the time to answer any question you have. It is great to have people like this.

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Fill your stove with wood
« on: February 05, 2012, 08:22:29 AM »
Wonerding if is a good idea to fill the stove with wood? The weather has been really mild here in Kentuckyand i have noticed that the stove is working very little. I filled it 3/4 of the way one night and didn't check that morning and went on to work. Checked it 24 hours later and it still had some wood in there but was very black like it was a charcoal. Is this good to do or not?

Ok I have to ask. If I get a hot tube that would seat outside on my deck and use my OWB to heat it how would you control the temp. in the hot tube? If anybody is doing this I really would to know how it works. I don't want to hook it up to electric at all.

What do you keep you OWB temp at? I have been keeping ours at 160 with minus 7 cool down. It is doing good just want to make sure that I am not hurting the stove in any way.

HeatMaster / My Stove
« on: January 05, 2012, 09:02:18 PM »
Ok I got my stove installed today. I want to thank Dave Youder for doing a great job. Really done the Heatmaster company a great job and this stove. Now to the stove. We got it a fired help and running and it is doing an excellent job. I know it really isn't cold outside but the best thing is that them no heating my house heat pumps aren't running costing me money. I was scared when it was going to get cold cause it was going to cost me money. I am looking forward to it getting cold to see how good this stove can do.
Will post some updates as it happens and let you guys know how it is going. Just wanted to say thanks to all of those that answered all the questions that I had and took the time to answer them all.

HeatMaster / Making a decision on which model
« on: November 10, 2011, 07:58:58 AM »
I have a 100 year old house that has very little insulation in the walls. I have sprayed the roof with that spray insulation. The house is about 6000 sg feet and i am using 3 heat pumps to heat it now. I am ona budget payment with my eletric provider at 460.00 a month all year long. I am looking at 2 different models to purchase and would like a little help. They are the MF 10000E or the G400. I am wanting to make a good investment that will last a long time and saves as much as i can on my elertic bill at the same time. Is there anybody using these models that may be able to help out with numbers of savings? Thanks for your help.
