Electronics / Re: HVAC QUESTION
« on: December 02, 2012, 06:20:45 AM »
I know this does answer your questions. But I know a hvac company that has an owb in there shop. They claim it doesnt work well. And they would rather try to sell you heat pump. But in fact they work better than there heat pump they have running it. The hvac companies need to jump on the band wagon and start installing the and servicing them for people because there's not many people has them in my area but you see them starting to pop up here and there and everyone asks about the one I have and I wished I would have got one yrs ago. Anyway I hope you will get  yours figured out and find a good h ac guy willing to help you good luck!

Equipment / Re: Best chain sharpener?
« on: December 02, 2012, 05:55:40 AM »
I suggest learning hand file. Because if you use grinder style sharpeners u will always use one because it does heat the chain up no matter how little you use it and makes it hard to file chains and if you cut a lot you better keep a file with you in the field. With a grinder u cannot. Use unless u have power so I suggest a hand file or get you several chains to take with you if you go the grinder route. Which it's always a good ideal to have an extra chain and a backup saw with you anyways.

HeatMaster / Re: Water Leaking From Fill Pipe
« on: December 02, 2012, 05:41:29 AM »
I'd say your fill valve is got some blockage and won't fully shut off you an try to work it a few times and see if that helps if its an old valve I would just replace it. If you have hard water it could be calcium buildup on valve. But I'd say that's your problem.

HeatMaster / Here is my mf 5000 install!
« on: December 01, 2012, 10:20:16 AM »
Here is my mf 5000 install will add more pics in future. I built a shed over the furnace I am going to put metal siding on the sides and a sliding door beside furnace to help keep wood dry. I am out of funds right now so I have plastic around the sides lol. Plus I have notice my mf 5000 likes wood so I may make the shed bigger lol!

HeatMaster / Re: Dripping from doors
« on: December 01, 2012, 07:20:36 AM »
Mine does same thing on the mf 5000 I have mine set at 175 with 10 degree swing and it does well now. I notice if you put wood towards the back of Furnace away from door. You will get less  to almost none dripping out of doors.  I put a pan under mine and I was emptying it out almost ever day and since I moved wood back and I hardly empty the pan at all now. It is like its almost gone. And I am having mild weather here in 20s at night and around 60s though the day.

You can put a diode on wire going to tstat to keep power from back feeding old tstat that would work too! Without changing anything but I like the relay deal it will keep them isolated from each other and I will probably change mine to relay in future but no problems here with diode inline

Hey sawdust I wouldn't stretch it I done that to my indoor stove once and after about a month it started pulling away from we're the gasket rope is butted up to one another. I suggest not putting the gasket sealer over rope next time and it should fit fine but most times you have to re adjust door when new gasket is on and again when it is seated in good

HeatMaster / Re: Got owb going last night but fire goes out over night!
« on: October 14, 2012, 09:31:08 PM »
Yeah I been running mine on 175 now and it has been running great I guess I just need to get a bed of hot coals going and it has run great ever since. I thought it may have went out a time or too but if you run good seasoned wood it burns hardly any smoke only time I see it smoke is when the furnace gets up to temp and damper closes and blower shuts off I see a little cloud of smoke for a min or two the. It is barley noticed anymore. These furnaces are way more efficient than my old indoor furnace!
