Industrial boilers normally have the water enter at the top.  Because it is cooler and more dense it "falls" to the bottom and forces hotter less dense water up.  I used this principal of natural circulation when I decided to place the feed inlet about half way up and towards the back of my boiler. A baffle also helps direct the feed downwards.  Because our units are completely forced throughout the boilers I am not sure that natural circulation has any advantage.  I am satisfied with how it performs but I have nothing to compare it with.  I may reroute the feed inlet into the bottom drain and see if there is any difference.

I think it is fairly common to have PTO driven pumps for log splitters.  I see on the link that you supplied with the pump that in the comments section a gentlemen used that pump for his log spliter powered by his 8N and apears happy with it.  Don't forget a filter with yout tank.
All that being said I prefer a stand alone log splitter as it frees up my tractor to move logs and blocks around when necessary.

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Re: firebox wall thickness

There is a lot of heat stress in this area.  A thin firebox wil give better heat transfer but may not stand up well over time.  My firebox is 3/8 inch.  It should be around for a while.

My home built unit is in an insulated building approximately 10 x 10.  There is an entrance door plus a second door which leads directly into the attached wood shed.

Hopefully all of our OWB's, gasification style or otherwise, have gone through a complete combustion process.  The main exhaust products from burning a hydrocarbon based fuel like wood are carbon dioxide, water vapour and nitrogen which gets carried along for the ride.  None of these products are further combustible.
The gasification liberator works by heating, not burning, the wood fuel and causing combustible gases to vent off.  It is the same basic principle used at many landfill sites which collects methane gas from rotting garbage which is then burnt  to produce power.  I thought it was very telling that the video did not actually show the liberator working.  I personally think it is a very poor process for that application.  I will stick with gasoline for my generator.
