I think the biggest reasons why people choose to go with an OWB  is one to save heating cost, and two is to keep the wood , mess and risk of house fire OUTSIDE.  Hate hauling the wood to the basement. Handling the wood  for the fourth time.

I agree with you with the heat cost......thats why i went with a wood boiler...mine is in my shop not house.....but i know what your saying.....my boiler is the same size as out door model.....holds 130 gallon of water and is pressurized unit....I am getting the hot water from it plus getting the radiant heat off boiler and stack which is heating most of my shop with that.....(even in a insulated jacket) were out door is not.....the boiler has a stack limit switch so if the stack gets to hot it will shut down, along with low water cut off switch. I have a woodshed tied on to the end of my shop....I open the man door to wood shed grab wood and put it in my boiler....either way they both work great out door or indoor models....

The style I bought was designed to be inside a shed.

It's a Hicks Waterstove brand. I have been around this brand all my life and liked the idea
of having the stove inside my shop.

I does take up alot of room but it sure is nice to wood on my fire without being rained or
snowed on.
