Cold here in SW Missouri! minus 12* last night, -10 * now.

My house is a ranch style with a walkout basement 3,400 sq. ft.  Built in 1998 with good insulation.

Toasty 74* inside. My furnace is running about 1/2 of the time, and boiler is doing great set at 165*!

First season with it, and I wish I would have installed it sooner!.

With 340 gallons of water, I have plenty of reserve.

Stay warm my friends!!

-28 here in michigan. Stove is sipping wood and I can't believe it. House stays at 70 with ease @ 45% indoor humidity. Getting 12hr plus burns with ease bring on -50. Running 150-165 no need to turn it up.

Holy smokes - I take a nap before work and this post blows up :)

Glad to see everyone posting. Seems like most are doing ok for the extreme weather we are having. Glad to hear it.

Victor - I'm not believing ANY stove is sipping wood in -28deg weather LOL
Hell, Ive probably burned at least a facecord with this cold snap. Maybe more, but at least I'm warm. Praying power stays on. Ive already had a pump go wacky and replaced it about 2 weeks ago so hopefully Im good.

Best of luck to all of you. Hope its over soon.

minus 12 here this morning (-39 wind chill)

the "bullet" is keeping up but you can feel the difference in room temps in the sun room, all that glass is radiating cold from the wind chill. there is about a 4 degree difference  from that end of the house. 72 in the north end and 68 in the sun room at the south end.

-15 this morning in west central Pa, and my boiler is doing just wonderfully.  Its not a massive unit, with the fire box only being about 20"wide 30" deep and 20" high, and only holding 30 gallons i've had no problems.  I have no issues with 8-9 hrs of burn time, even went 12-13 hrs when temps were "normal".

When the next electric bill comes around i'll be anxious to see my consumption since I shut off my electric HWH, but I estimate a reduction of about 25%.

Where I live in NH the weather isn't nearly as bad for me as it is for a lot people in other parts of the country.  But, this evening when I got home from work it 4 was degrees above zero with a very stiff westerly wind.  I was standing at the OWB for the 15 seconds CB recommends for safety purposes after opening the by-pass door and the word that popped in my mind was; DAMN!, I detect a bit of a nip in the air tonight.  But, it's 70 degrees in the house and I'm cozy warm.  I thank God every chance I get for the warmth the OWB provides externally but also for the warmth he provides internally.  Roger
