« on: August 13, 2014, 10:50:57 AM »

I have my boiler in a "walk in freezer"   I would like to have a hood over the door on a switch ..so I could turn on a fan...open the firebox and no smoke rollin in my room/shed  any ideas pics /links would be great...    like this on page 36                                                                 www.aqua-therm.com/aquatherm_manual_010109.pdf

I have seen a guy that uses a hood with a leaf blower attached to the exhaust pipe, worked very well.

Another great way to re purpose an old oil or gas hot air furnace, the blowers move a lot of air compared to a fan and the metal is already bent for you, simply gut the burner and cut the cabinet to size.

close to home here, I seen 1 guy cut into his ceiling and he put tin,,same stuff that's on the boilers,, around the cut part in his ceiling,,,,with a fan and a 4 inch pipe blowing the smoke out,,
he has his boiler in a 10 by 12 log cabin,,,insulated roof...
not very fancy but,it  does take away the smoke fast,,,,for smoke rises to the highest point
